Dr. Holmes, Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with a subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine, specializes in orthopedic surgery and athletic medicine. This includes sports and occupational surgery. Dr. Holmes has practiced medicine in San Antonio since the 1980’s. He has serviced not only adults and children but professional athletes as well. These have included the San Antonio Spurs, San Antonio Missions, San Antonio Iguanas, Houston Astros, Houston Oilers and the Sea World Water Ski Team IN San Antonio. He volunteers his time on weekends doctoring the Football games of the high school teams for Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz, Texas and Byron Steele High School in Cibolo, Texas and has volunteered as doc for the Crossman Drum and Bugle Corp. competitive team while based in San Antonio.
Dr. Holmes formed The Orthopedic Kneed Foundation as a non-profit in 2003 after seeing families with no health insurance having difficulty getting care for their injured athletes. He made a pledge then to never turn a kid away! Now, thanks to our generous supporters, his goal is realized and he can take care of these kids, send them back to their sport and make sure they enjoy a healthy and productive future!
